Distribution Guide: What Posts Where, When, and What Ads Can Run
Once a piece of content is ready, it can go one of two ways: out as an organic post on the platforms you connected, or into your ad account as a creative. This page lays out the rules for both: what each content type becomes on each platform, when it posts, how many posts a platform takes per day, and which creatives each ad platform accepts.
The tables below are not copied by hand. They are generated from the same rules the scheduler and the ad builder use at send time. If a rule changes, the table changes with it; the table and what actually goes out cannot drift apart.
How to read the tables
- Title + video / title + images / text + cover: the shape the post takes on that platform. Instagram turns image posts into a short video with music, so its image rows say “title + video”.
- A dash: this content type cannot go to that platform; scheduling skips it.
- Manual (Xiaohongshu, Douyin, WeChat Channels, WeChat Official Accounts): we prepare the content but do not publish it for you. You post it yourself.
- When: in your audience’s local time, not the time zone you are sitting in. The default follows the workspace’s content language (English → US Eastern, Chinese → China, and so on), so a post can go out while you are asleep.
- Max per day: each platform has a daily cap. When it is full, that post is skipped for that platform rather than pushed later; platforms you tick yourself in publish settings move to the next free slot.
- Hashtags: how many the platform adapter adds; Link?: whether the link goes inline, into the Pin’s link field, or not at all.
- What can run as an ad is a separate rule set from organic posting: something can post organically but not run as an ad, and the other way around.
The two sections below are the ones described above: the posting guide first (formats and posting rules), then what can run as an ad.
