WeChat Nurture Sequence
Your domestic conversion pipeline. Automatically follows up when a user scans your WeCom channel QR and adds you. Built for brands with customers in China.
Why WeCom
Domestic Chinese customers behave differently from international ones — they rarely check email, but they’re on WeChat every single day.
WeCom (Enterprise WeChat) gives you tools personal WeChat doesn’t:
- Channel QR codes with auto-tagging — know exactly where each contact came from when they add you
- Broadcast messaging — send different content to different tagged groups
- CRM properties — track follow-up status for each contact
From AutoWhisper’s own data: We use WeCom channel QR codes to track domestic users by platform. WeChat Official Account visitors had the highest paid conversion rate (35%), followed by Xiaohongshu (22%), and Douyin the lowest (8%). This data pushed us to prioritize Official Account content above everything else.
Setting Up Channel QR Codes
Core idea: One unique channel QR code per source platform, with auto-tagging when someone adds you.
| Channel QR | Where to place it | Auto-tag |
|---|---|---|
| Code A | Xiaohongshu posts | Xiaohongshu-YourBrand |
| Code B | WeChat Official Account articles | OfficialAccount-YourBrand |
| Code C | Douyin profile | Douyin-YourBrand |
| Code D | Zhihu answers | Zhihu-YourBrand |
How to set it up: WeCom Admin → Customer Contacts → Channel Live Codes → Create New. About 5 minutes per code.
Nurture Sequence
Day 0: Welcome Message (Auto-reply)
Hi there! Thanks for connecting with {your brand} 👋
{One sentence on what your product can do for them}
I'll occasionally share useful tips and insights around {your field}.
Feel free to ask me anything anytime~
Note: The first message determines whether they keep you or delete you. Don’t lead with a pitch.
Day 1: Share a Case Study
Here's something I wanted to share:
{Specific case study, with data or screenshots}
If you'd like to try it yourself → {product link}
Free to get started, no credit card required.
Day 3: Share a Tip
Quick tip: {specific, actionable advice}
You can use this even without our product~
(Though it'll go a lot faster with it 😄)
Day 7: Understand Their Needs
Are you currently working on {relevant business area}?
If so, I'd love to run a free {core feature} test for you and show you what the results look like~
Ongoing: 1 Message Per Week
- Share whichever piece of content had the strongest signal that week
- Keep the tone of a friend sharing something, not a salesperson broadcasting
- Mention new features or case studies naturally when they come up
- Never exceed 1 message per week — more than that and you’ll get deleted
Do’s and Don’ts
| Do | Don’t |
|---|---|
| Reply promptly (same day) | Leave them waiting more than 24 hours |
| Send different content to different tagged segments | Broadcast the same message to everyone |
| Sound like a friend | Sound like a customer service bot |
| Keep messages short (3–5 lines) | Send long articles or dense image posts |
| Share genuinely useful content | Advertise every single day |
How This Works with the Email Sequence
| Scenario | What to use |
|---|---|
| International user signs up | Email sequence (see 邮件序列模板) |
| Domestic user adds you on WeChat | WeCom nurture sequence |
| You have both | Run both in parallel — they don’t interfere with each other |
